Poetry is many a splendid thing—a collusion between darkness and light, a fusion that leads to a greater light!- oxygon
The great American poet, Wallace Stevens, emphasized the power of the imagination in poetry, and here the imagination is let loose in a series if images and metaphors, that bear out Stevens’ compelling idea. I like the sudden, abrupt interjection of “ice cream cone” and “God bless the Queen.” It makes me think of Stevens’ poem, “The Emperor of Ice Cream”.- oxygon
