AN AGONISED PRAYER

Agony shall finds its path. It is a very appropriate poem to describe the year 2013 which caused a lot of anguish and misery the world over. The horror and loss of so many lives, floods and cyclones showing the nature's fury were catastrophic. India is the worst sufferer. Let us hope for a happy New Year 2014. Bouquet Garni

I liked how you did three different haikus here. I love how each one tells a different story. I believe the second one is the most powerful because it tells the story that there is so much you can say in such a small amount of writing. Very creative writing style you have.- Beautiful Soul

Nice, I like it.- Jyoti Rawat

The lost road in
bamboos comes out
as solitary song.

- I really like the image of this haiku as well as the thought one can gather from it. Actually, anyone can take a different view from this piece. I searched the title and I see it's a bouquet of herbs. So I thought that that's what each of those haiku were like... put together to give a greater picture. Thanks for sharing. - Everlasting

3 Haikus in one with different images for the reader to see..nice write.- Meena Krish

Utopia

This is a hard poem to think about. I will give a few thoughts to what I think. I like the title because it really draws the reader in because utopia is a place of peace. It seems like you are running away from something. But you are lost. I love the use of the imagery in the like butterfly catcher and the woods by the beach. It adds so much to the poem. At the end it's sad because you seem to lose everything you love and you cannot remember the scents from your childhood. Great write.- Beautiful Soul

The depth of this write has a deeper meaning for the writer then it is for the reader. There is a sense of peace which the writer feels and at the same time seeing that peace going away perhaps..?.All in all, I like the imagery and the flow of this poem was a smooth read..lovely.- - Meena Krish

So many images, the war, the beach, the butterfly catchers, that provoke thoughts, I like it.- Everlasting

ONCE MORE

What I take away from this is a person decides not to commit suicide backing away, returning to their old self, remembering life events, looking for a gift (there has to be more to life than this). The destructive thought process of the person never changes therefore the tears never go away but lessen and light a candle which gives hope and light that there is more. Might be a little disjointed but I think you can get the idea of waht I said. Nice work- Sylvia

I like this poem a lot as well. It tells a very sad story that darkness can consume you. It seems this person found the light in something and made a huge change to their life. This is actually a very well written poem. Because it keeps me interested the whole time. You also tell a story of warmth. The darkness/sadness consumes you at first then you found hope in something. The flow is very beautiful as well each line connecting well with the next. Well done- Beautiful Soul

Nice poem
World has changed
Everything is masterly managed
No place for misery or pain
Self interest has only remained.-Hasmukh mehta, ahmedabad

Thank you for sharing this. In a world of sin and crime, it is little wonder that tears turn into stones and a heart-breaking song becomes an irony.

TRANSITIONAL EDGE

I agree. In was an honest read. I liked it, too.- steelrelease

Aside from your sudden shift from narrator to dialogueor in the second stanza, I enjoyed the read, albeit your usual fluxive structural movement was a bit anemic...In fact, the work actually smacked more of prose than contemporary free-verse. Perhaps the piece might be better served as one paragraph with right-margin-alignment...Either way, as I said above, I liked it.- Frank James Ryan Jr./FjR

Salvaging

I feel this honest presence with your words, and you truly provoke the reader. What really caught my eye was the hestitation you have, the questions you hold about spiritualism in life and nature. I know I've heard many say religion is just an institution whereas when you are spiritual, it is a more personal relationship that can be fulfilled. Will have to read this a few more times...

The second part of the poem I feel you are aware you are being called to something and want to understand it. Whether it be the mystery of God or other religions. What truly defines reilgion? Is it our safehouse or our way out of reality, to justify actions and seek happiness?
That last image of the failing lights was unexpected. I love how you brought this image out that kind of tied in with nature, dusk perhaps, and why a day must end without answers even.

Lots to ponder in this piece. I thought this could be in the life section as well? Anyway, glad you shared this and congrats on the win!- Poet on the Piano

TENDERNESS

The kiss of a flame,
after the perfect
sketch.

^^I like this opening. For it shows desire that
has been sparked by a beauty...in a way its very romantic too!

The geometry
ignites the ice.
It falls, fiery particles.

^^I like how you have weaved nature and human feelings into one. I've an image of a very passionate couple in love. The word, "geometry" has taken the place of a woman's physique and one leads to another. Maybe I'm wrong but the message here sets a fiery, passionate mood.

The space shrinks.
Glided slope.
How can you stop?

^^Oh yeah..I will not delve deep into this. All I will say is I've enjoyed reading this! Excellent!- Meena Krish

Heart Of The Matter

A man,
in the shadow of a child,
walks, for the sake of
phylogenesis.

^^This opening stanza creates an image
with lots to think about. Where an adult walks
down a path in the woods where he once used
to go when he was a child perhaps..?

The Great Bustard,
was on the brink of
extinction. Somebody
was not an achiever.

^^Either this is talking about a person/or one
of nature's spot that has failed to achieve its
beauty or goal...I'm just guessing here.

Seeking,
an inborn god in thighs,
for running faster than light,
weightless, faceless.

^^An interesting stanza here. I've old mythological images playing through my mind
while reading this!

Dust will take,
dust for the dark matter
sequencing a disaster.
The animal within roars.

^^Hmmm..you know this poem has got my mind working really hard to grasp the meaning behind these words. Reading this to me it shows that patience has limits..whether it refers to human or nature.

All in all a very intriguing read that has gotten me to think deep into it...good one!- Meena Krish

The Woods Are Burning

A very interesting write. The images in each
stanza is vivid and I guess it talks about how the
beauty of mother nature is been ravished by
greed..at least that is what I got from this write.
Liked the read.- Meena Krish

Overwhelming

One who has renounced everything and gives himself to nature by protecting and trying not to kill any small living thins yet with the very simple things he steps on dies..once again I'm guessing here..- Meena Krish

SONG ABOVE THE SORROW

I listen to your wise old charm, remembering the good to last and knowing that space is for infinite clarity, not for the innocent hikers from the surface of the critical mass we assume to be our home...I'd rather your charm than to hold your arm...- FridayJunior

WAKES THE BLOOD

I am only at the start of my searching jurney but I can feel deeply for your poem. When or if (rarely) I get into a state of oneness I may be in harmony with everything, but a next moment I can also see the hollow beliefs that is pushed on us for more than centuries...Then waken blood sometimes is revolting but not that is what I search, when I deep into myself all I wish is to be at peace with everything..Thank you for sharing, this poem is more than just a poem, it is a teaching.- Elena S
