Marking The Graves

Yeah, very difficult question to give answer. But somehow the life has to go on. The wheel of time must roll to take us to our destination. Very nice.-Anil Kumar Panda

a poem of many questions? maybe we will know the answers one day!-Tom Allport

Each stanza is a poem. All graves. Metaphors come, and go. Too abstruse.-Robert Murray Smith

I had to read this poem several times but then it dawn on me such words really don't always make sense to the reader only for the writer....? ? ? Congratulations! ! !-Christina Simmons

Your Philosophy

Lean unto me...
Well written in a triplet of six stanzas -Sylva-onyema Uba

Not A Banal Taste

Authority
Tress die that you may rise in the radiation that rains down like half-cooked food. Prepare the page with bleach. Squeeze the juice from fruits, wash the seeds. The foundation settles with time, making small talk, before the final revelation.-Lantz Pierre

Annex The Belief

Meaningful Line
"...a conjugation between light and dark..." This is a line for remembering in 2017 - allets

Missing Portrait

I really liked this a lot. Your poetry always gives me a lot of thought. Well done.-Brenda

Go Away

This poem has mixed emotions it seems? I could be wrong, just how it makes me feel personally. The second stanza is my favourite. Beautiful wording.-Gem

Ninth Symphony

The title of the poem is beautiful. It's the thing that drew me here. I like the last lines a lot. They are simply good. Nice.-Shruti

…… Distant Shores

I love this piece. The way you began is really beautiful. The metaphors used in it are awesome too. The softness of it adds pleasure in reading this.-Shruti

'Let's go and meet in dimentia'
- I love really this line!
This is beautifully written, with an aura of sadness.

Without Stopping

Parallel lines are an inference. They lead the mind like money does. Shoulder to shoulder the dead fish ascend toward a heaven terraced for agriculture in the clouds. Thieves cut at the laws with machetes made of stone. Made in a time of transition.-Lantz Pierre

Falling Rubble

A gate of iron. The hinges inviting oxygen as an added defense. In the city what is clear is that the traffic lights are controlled by algorythms of indifference. And flowers multiply on days of the heaviest resistance. We all wait for the weather impatiently.-Lantz Pierre

In Depression

Trepanation allowed the brain to bloom like an amaryllis after a brush fire. The pressure of which card to play. The suicide Jack beats anything without a face. Light from the east breaks in waves over the angles of the cheekbones. That blush of love. Of life.-Lantz Pierre

Engraving Your Name On Trees

Make a list of who you hate. For each one inscribe a thick, black heart around each vowel in their name. The constancy of the consonants calls out like a commuter train passing your station. Remember, the ties under are held down now by steel pretzels.-Lantz Pierre

Improbabilis

No need for more. No more. A motorcycle defines a binary system. With a simple twist of the wrist more power is applied. The roar of the motor. Fuel consumed. Fuel firing the piston, driving the rod. A matter of balance. A matter of masculinity. A mote for error.- Lantz Pierre

Coming Face To Face

The broad, rolling meadow had at great cost been tiled. In the stillness of hot summer days the trees painted designs of camouflage upon the faces of the dead. And when it rained royalty took their old decorative swords and laid down inside. Quiet was never heard.-Lantz Pierre

Snaky Paths

Lunch
Depositing coins in the slot of the automat John hoped the bowl of groats was well buttered. The boat had already sunk, the holes having been inadvertently filled with a slimy film of worms. No matter, the answer was easy, long before it was hard.-Lantz Pierre

Earthenwares

Still life
Your feet are so small and childlike. Your left knee has a scar in the shape of my lucky number and two moles that trail up your thigh on the soft underside. These I imagine your lover touching with a forefinger gently while a caged bird waits to hear the uttered words.-Lantz Pierre

Half-Lights

Travel
Nothing we know can fly like that. But why is that? Why stop, hover, hesitate in a night sky as vast as imagination? And then, without warning, without the slightest reasonable explanation, start off towards the faintest star deliberately before veering left to leave the atmosphere.-Lantz Pierre

On Judgement Day

Inside
Hitchhiking in America. Across the heartland. The breadbasket. Pick-ups with dualies and plaid-shirted farmers wearing hats. The bed full of seed that rattles and adds a percussive sheen to the country tune song softly on the radio. The casual reference to killing weeds.-Lantz Pierre

From Suicidal Angle

Copper wires are riverbeds in the air. They pass through the flesh leaving flowers on the skin. What blooms seeks to begin again. Water seeks the path of least resistance, it is lazy and loves the weightiest of objects. Needles and leaves will all eventually fall.-Lantz Pierre

Leukosma

Syrup
A fragmentation grenade without a fuse or detonator has a geometry designed by purpose. Buildings are always hollow and photons fight for interminable periods of time to escape the center of the sun. Boiling the blood of the sugar maple makes it inhospitable to life.-Lantz Pierre

Dead Lips

Growth
Throw rocks at your own peril. They care not. Whether caressed by water or punished by the particles sent by special delivery, your skin will never heal their pain. Salt lends life. And then wine. The seed splits and feeds on itself.-Lantz Pierre

Path Of Rising Star

Seaside resort
The formless divides becoming divine. I feel it especially in the pulsations that rock my foundation. In the sun the snow becomes smooth and rounded, before it becomes dirty and pocked with unsightly holes. It's like living with chlamydia in a paradise of one.-Lantz Pierre

New Religions

Lap Joint
The carpenter was meticulous in creating strengths. The angles were a matter of math. The grain ran the length of his life. The plane shaved the days and hours one moment at a time. Diaphanous and flammable the shavings were the father's gift to the son.-Lantz Pierre

After The Sunset

Moving through mist
Two boys hold hands on an expansive veranda. The rain cannot condemn them as cars whizz past, windshield wipers slapping the sky's tears aside. In this governed land the laws do not decide who must turn their headlights on when night has not yet come.-Lantz Pierre

Translating Death

Voyage
All that you were left with was the breath. It joined us, a boat traversing the sea. Waves rolled up and passed beneath. They slapped the boards and unbalanced the desired calm. The salt left stains that never completely washed away. The mast superfluous the sails hung limp.-Lantz Pierre

Most touching poem with tremendous intensity of emotions. Thanks for sharing.10 points.-Ratnakar Mandlik

It Is

Santalales in a tangle of heaven feeds on the limbs of the supplicant uplifted. No prayers are answered only kisses given. The children play in the park in perfect indifference. Candy canes and tinsel answer for what is not given.-Lantz Pierre

Antithesis

In gowns and suits, masks and tiaras, revelers flooded the dance floor of the gala carnal ball. The music came from chain saws and power tools, chains that clinked and screams from the throats of guests being slaughtered. Red meat for health, wine for merriment.-Lantz Pierre

Rebirthing

obsession of noisy celebration. Thanks for sharing. -Sylva-onyema Uba

Hymn

Ambition
The granite was hewn in blocks. The blocks were laid under foot. I walked from darkness into song. My clothes were tatters. My body glistened with ointments rare and luxurious. Everything I sought to do haunted the night. Winter snow painted the world white.-Lantz Pierre

The Condemned

An excuse for rain
No appeal of the verdict was allowed. The sentence stood. Sisyphus would have no rest. No meal breaks and never an opportunity to relieve himself. A myth that must touch every surface as it rises up. Even the clouds expressed pity as they continued to float beyond.-Lantz Pierre

Temple Of Hope

Lacunae
The body is nothing but holes. Nothing. The holes form solidities around themselves as sounds form meanings in the mind. Suggestions of permanence are brushed aside by a voice that emanates from a tunnel of wind. Each string's tension creates a deformation.-Lantz Pierre

My Injured Self

Scars
The blade is stained with life. A film of translucent memory begins to dry, shrinking, pulling at what is near. This too will pass, cleansed away with work that must done. The turning of a screw, the application of paint to cover the patches demanded by repairs.-Lantz Pierre

Orgy Of Pain

Love
I have mapped the topography of every bump on your aureoles, left and right. In my mind I visualize the path to the summit, to the very end of conceivable space. Breathless, without a secure safety line, I practice seeking perfection. I fear failure. I would rather die.-Lantz Pierre

Rebirthing

Bridge
With steel cables wound from strands uncountable, threaded through the sounds of your name and mine, every vibration of the wind is familiar. It matters not that you died, you hold the far end taut, dragging me like a water skier through the wake you left behind.-Lantz Pierre

You Love Yourself

Distance
In the warmth of the sun icicles lose their cold purity. The photons fracture their structure hoping they might become friends. They force a cloudiness on a clear day. Thunderclouds brew internally. Let the night come with healing stars and light as old as time.-Lantz Pierre

Enormous Precipice

The only thing that cannot be said correctly is the truth. It has no echo. Thrown against vertical walls what returns is only melancholy blue. Or pinks and oranges of sunset on a day when you did nothing, on a day when you were alone and the sky cried sounds your heart heard.-Lantz Pierre

Step By Step

Wow. Are you talking to me? Good stuff!-Maichael

Adulterous

Fantastic!-Boutheina

Another piece of intriguing writing with imagery to match. Liked so much.-Fay Slimm
I am really enjoying your poems, there is a slight mystery with the pieces you write, liked very much :)-Jade-Kelly
I like this.-Brian Fish

Length Of Time

On the cinema screen strangers mouth words someone else invented for them. In the raiment of another life I could have loved you more, opening doors when the boundaries were rigid and tall. I could have floated downstream and evaporated when I reached a quiet pool.-Lantz Pierre

Rape Of Fragrance

Inside the aluminum tube of disposable bodies the air was passed from lung to lung. I smelled you even before I chose to look into your eyes, which were butterflies and flitted freely in your skull. We made a tunnel in the air like a rainbow and passed through it into a pot of gold.-Lantz Pierre

Peace Fot The Living People

Razing the house
Around each individual grain of sand a film of grey powder waits like an elephant on the surface of the world. The elephant holds the fertile dirt, the decayed detritus, the ages of forgotten books under its imposing weight. We build ourselves out of the remains.-Lantz Pierre

To Be Nothing

Meal time
Whether to eat a cold sandwich with a slice of processed meat and some kind of emulsified spread on the light, white, fluffy bread. Greed says the pickle is a cover for the soft crusts which do not crunch. After lunch I will cut the excess fat from my belly with a dull knife.-Lantz Pierre

Truth Will Not Multiply

A million or more had gathered, came to see the spectacle, to thread the needle and be reflected back. Every face was counted. Every eye, and divided. A raindrop came as a gift for each guest. It soaked into the earth connecting everybody when the lightning struck.-Lantz Pierre

Only God Knows

Hive
A perfection of pages where the planes had crashed. Flat spaces populated by fragmented days sought out the wind, raised up their hands grasping, wailing in despair unheard behind the panes of glass four hours thick. For hours, and minutes the clocks ticked. And pollen floated in the air.-Lantz Pierre

Dying To Unsay

Feral in the forests of the flesh, carnivorous beasts feast and ingest the meat and wine of the body. An incantation of poison echoes hollowly through the halls vacated for the ceremony of ascension. The inflated anchors tethered to the sun are undone one strand at a time.-Lantz Pierre

A Sacrifice

Cinder
I know you by the way you breathe. The oxygen ignites your organs, one by one, until finally your skin is ablaze. Every surface of you burns. You cannot be touched. You are consumed. Each flame a tongue that licks your being. Until your shoes are full of grey ashes.-Lantz Pierre

Pummelled

Is chocolate not itself enough of an object of desire? Why is it wrapped in a shiny, eye-catching layer of precious delay? My lips on your neck, nuzzling where your hair easily makes way, is a delicious nourishment. It is even better than the smell of the gun smoke.-Lantz Pierre

In Darkness

Waiting
The most awkward moment on a crowded elevator is just after the doors close. Ding. And then a slight weightlessness in the silence. Your balls itch or bra pinches. The idea that water falls from the sky on a regular basis is barely contemplated.-Lantz Pierre

Crazy Thoughts

Where there is no light you find only red, dark and nourishing. Somnolent red with the softness of sleep. Downy, inviting, rich and luxurious. A red like a valentine, made of love. Made of innocence on the surface and deep down of illicit transcendence.-Lantz Pierre

Singing In Dark

When I wake I put my dreams in a box under the bed. A cardboard box that once held new shoes. I saved the tissue for the more delicate dreams. The dreams that you comb from hair after a cold shower on a fall day when the frost is on the lawn.-Lantz Pierre

Winter Backdrop

Mushrooms in the forest, under the leaves of another season. A season when the football players practiced without pads. When the swimmers let the mat of hair on their legs grow back. Please make me soup. Please remember the salt and pepper.-Lantz Pierre

Present Life

Thumbscrew
Iron tempered by heat. Made malleable and then made to accept the threaded die. Heavy, useful and enduring. A drop of water, some dissolved salt. And time. Stretch the drum head taut and tack it secure to the round, hollow form. Then attack it with bone.-Lantz Pierre

The Great Dilemma

Paper
What could not become a house had the chance to be transformed into something more valuable. With the charred end of a stick a message could be written on the thin blank sheet. The marks would mean the finger is still the finger and not the moon.-Lantz Pierre

Against The Current

A web of luminosity is spread over the world. We need not shake hands with our neighbors, help them unload grocers from the car. We can check in on social media and spread good will with a harmless butterknife. It slides over the bread between me and you.-Lantz Pierre

In Misty Day

Mechanics
When the sky comes low light glows with wonder. Illumination is brought close to the road, and there finds the two feet of the interloper heading behind the curtains, naked and vulnerable in a bedroom where he should not be. A belt links the motor to the generator of electricity.-antz Pierre

Who Had Spoiled The Show?

The existence of my neighbor's dog was once contested by a philosopher and high-priestess in an obscure internet sect. She argued that for that dog to exist its bark could not conceivably be worse than its bite. It was a gentle old dog, now so sedate it barely stirred. And toothless as a newborn.-Lantz Pierre

You And Everybody

This really a very interesting piece, there is a lot to it than it shows, the first parts are powerful and loud, however if I must be honest, something was lost in the last stanza, it felt as though you were wearied out, I suggest you could revise it and pull it up to the level of the parts before it.-Rania Moallem

Searching New Phrases

Water is the standard by which we measure how much a rigid stick can't conform. Apply force to the apple. Ultimately the impurities become what is sought during the down times between rush hours. The oil pan is vulnerable to rocks in the road bed.-Lantz Pierre

This Myth Of Life

Every grain of sand on the beach, the sugar white, the lava black, the average light beige beach sand, every grain has its own channel on the television. Programming specific to its needs. Not for any other. The only problem is that sand can't stop being sand. So the forests watch.-Lantz Pierre

From The Flames

In the morning I walk the dog. First he pisses, intimating that the world is his. And then he shits, squatting with some decorum behind the first line of fir trees at the meadows edge. Then he runs towards the sun before turning. I solemnly follow him home again.-Lantz Pierre

Snake Dance

A scorpion carries death at its furthest reaches, uplifted as if special. An armored posture in a barren land. Sand. That's all there is. Shifting. And ships that crest and descend. Crest and descend. Heading for the far shore. The point above the scorpion's head assumes a direction forward.-Lantz Pierre

Who Wears The Mantle Of War

We hurtle through days and nights. Breathlessly clinging to the firmament that should not want to throw us off. That can't desire our demise. An orb as imperfect as an eye. The camera obscures the world and turns it all upside-down. I stand on my head and send salt into the soil.-Lantz Pierre

A Parting

Mirage
There was a crowd gathering in the shadows. The light had withdrawn with the day, and the moon was immense, orange and ringed with halos that glowed. No one raised their face, except the two. In the recesses of their eyes, behind veils, the others argued. In the silence of the night.-Lantz Pierre

Barriers

The history books lining the library shelves, spines out, faces hidden, keep their stories locked in darkness. The words huddle together, barely breathing in the confined spaces lacking oxygen. Let fire come, bringing light, it will come only slowly. Its fingers will be clumsy with cold. At first...-antz Pierre

Will Not Breathe For A While

sub / merged
Bubbles rise breaking the surface. A fast shutter speed and macro lens captures the exquisite explosion as the membrane breaks. A capsule of gas released into the vast invisible atmosphere that surrounds us, invisibly. Gives fuel to our thoughts. Drives our mind back to ask what lurks under the surface.-Lantz Pierre

From Fairyland

It was so hard to hear the noises that emanated from the creatures breathing in the night. Were they there at all? What did they feed on? If I peeled the clothes from my body and left them in a neat pile would they come close to sniff them? Would they recognize my sacrifice?-Lantz Pierre

Overwhelmed

Bears do not prey on bumblebees. The workers and the drones do not care. A house once built can only fall, after a time of humble supplication. In ever chamber the future hurls pearls softened only by time. Only by the tears of the sea on the shores of the forests.-Lantz Pierre

Imperfection

Diamonds
You passed through security at the airport terminal with an air of impassivity, never looking back. The air swallowed you. The breezes were made by turbines whirring and laden with carbon. Nothing about it felt organic. The carbon was inert, could not combine.-Lantz Pierre

When A God Bleeds

The egg breaks. Delicate as it was, it was only a vessel for life. Having waited for rain its dry, arid landscape collapsed under the weight of dust. Under the rust that flaked from the underside of distant clouds, like scabs from a wound that never wholly heals.-Lantz Pierre

No Contempt

Like a subcutaneous infection the caldera builds, hot and angry. This warning has a usefulness, an energy that can be used, an alternative embrace. A caress directed at the genitalia. Something in the air lands on a flower oblivious, unaware.-Lantz Pierre

Many Things

The dead may transport themselves freely, no visas needed. No pre-ejaculate to foretell what adventures happen at night. The night exhales oxygen, heady, laced with molecules of heaven. Add energy and they dance, they dance the dance of army ants.-Lantz Pierre

Getting Acclimated

There is no such thing as a fair duel between two erect penis on the field of honor. No, one brings a second and the other a forth, a back-and-forth, a sawing motion that divides the oceans and the seas. Let the moon shine on these phallic dalliances, the day is done.-Lantz Pierre

Ennui

The turbulent surface of the water mirrored the heavens with perfect verisimilitude. A sloop with sails fore and aft of the mast traversed the seas the unceasingly. Marriage, cried the ringmaster. Bring me my bride that we procreate pleasantly and never die.-Lantz Pierre

Fake Arrival

I love this. "Gliding on the clover, you invoke the sky."
Basically meaning that this being has their whole lives ahead of them, dreaming big.
Okay so the insect seeking liberation. My mind went crazy. What are you saying, is this moth a representation of a person seeking freedom from whatever it is trapping them up inside?
MY MIND IS CRAZY but I love your poem. I give you a 90 rating because there's always room to grow. I love your simplicity. If you look at my poetry you will see that my only few things I have published on this website are longer than the constitution...-MaddyDash09

On The Jagged Stones

Good flow of thought and imagery of the human condition that carries a faint, but foul smell under the rug of life. TFS, Satish Verma Ji.-Leonard Dabydeen, Brampton, Ontario, Canada

Psychological Dying

Death is the most disturbing, challenging and thought provoking aspect of life. A helplessness creeps in when one realises it is bound to overtake us; it is only a matter of time. Most people live a thousand deaths before it eventually consumes. Thanks for your take on it Satish ji. -GSP Rao, Hyderabad

………….. Afraid Of Whom?

Would one wish the mortician was a necrophiliac when their twin's heart stops counting time? One last dance, one last cold glance in the mirror. To be shattered isn't a shame. Facts creep out of the ground sometimes, after having put so many to rest.-Lantz Pierre

A Love Story

In the car we listened to one dead voice after another all the way to the airport. You said something about a map of the past, where the streets all had different names. Or traveled east and west when we were heading due south. The rain lashed. My tires grew bald.-Lantz Pierre

Laughing Skull

Presupposing perfection allows judgements to bloom like flies on rotting flesh. They come to lay eggs. To rejoice and recklessly fuck. To plant the future where the past is most fertile. When I talk about it my skin forms bumps, forming a defensive stockade of hair.-Lantz Pierre

Drawing A Circle

The leaves were deeply dissected. And fragrant. Freely given they grew in the spring with names only the scientists knew. They put them in their books to save them for the fall. When they returned the scent was gone. Winter loomed.-Lantz Pierre

Beginning Of Voyage

I am deaf in a land of tongues. They wag and I nod, dumb. They wave and I am left alone. Alone with the snow and fog that rolls in and out marching the mercury up and down. It matters not. The ice in my veins cannot melt. Cannot sublimate.-Lantz Pierre

Valley Of Tears

Between the soft breasts of the singer on stage the resonant cage of destiny in disguise. The dimples of the hip bones frame a baroque flourish only I can see. The cooper rings the barrels round and the brewer drives the bung home to hold liquor in.-Lantz Pierre

Woods Of Craft

At the end of a long alley your silhouette stands in sharp relief. An outline of intimate gestures clothed in moonlight and song. The light behind and the darkness within. I am unsure if you are approaching or in full retreat.-Lantz Pierre

Dimensions

The colonial front porch was painted white. Was painted coat on coat. The lignin of the wood was protected from impolite words and passing indiscretions. Petticoats swayed as the cars came to claim gasoline. Everything had been refined.-Lantz Pierre

Ambiance

The eye splice in the braided rope was purpose built for the bridle. The horse was brindle and gun-shy. A blanket with native design pre-dated the fur trade and French trappers who set their lines in the forests shagged with ice or thick with flies.-Lantz Pierre

Snowblinks

The most delicate, diaphanous blue spread over the desert. The sand was humbled and hushed in its presence. The camels were cleansed. The men held their jambiyas as if in prayer. Water passed through their dreams and quenched their flames in the night.-Lantz Pierre

The Blame Game Begins

Dressed in red from head to toe, he kept his hands visible, gripped in a fist around the hardwood handle of the ax. Where they would do the most good. The orbs always flickered for eternities, it seemed. He undid the seam stitch by stitch. That was the pattern he sewed.-Lantz Pierre

I See My Own Demise

Each and every thing that you give me I will take. These things will be placed on a pyre and purified. They will be the nutrients from which a familiar monster will grow. Silently, with a tongue that longs for some one else's viscous saliva.-Lantz Pierre

Neighbours Watch

A copper tree that kills the crows, kills the eagles, even lichen will not grow. Sterility as the letter T. Leaves in a cup brewed bring a sad residue. The changes must never be let loose into the air. Your intent is the alphabet of change. A spell.-Lantz Pierre

Shock The Garden

The sandwich was wrapped in a scrap of scripture. White bread, no mayonnaise, no butter, no mustard. The lord will provide. And cleanliness is next to go. A little in the spoon, bent so it stands independent of the moon. The heat is so cold. So desperately cold.-Lantz Pierre

Eternal Cuddle

Leaning insouciantly against the wall of the corner drugstore, the fire of a wooden match inhaled. The heat fills the lungs with an excitement that remains for others to diagnose. Slide one hand languorously into the hide of a dead cow.-Lantz Pierre

Dead Faith

Spanking
The hand that reddens the flesh acts like a fish finding its way back from the ocean. It is not angry, the corrective is simply necessary. What is necessary carries with it pleasures to make sure the deed gets done. Scales shine iridescent in the full light of pain.-Lantz Pierre

Countdown

The wild starling is silent. Every feather has been numbered. Every branch predicted by a theory of quantum proportions. But the rain would not listen, pulled down its pants and masturbated without passion and without shame.-Lantz Pierre

Ambulating Pain

Rage
The river knew no other course. It caressed rocks and was turned back on itself. It waited for the rain and flung itself against the shores, thinking only of escape, it gathered itself from the sky. And slipped downstream alternately angry and calm.-Lantz Pierre

Saturn Will Shortly Rise

The gladiator clad in sheets of deftly composed poetry was fearful in the face of the gryphon. We walked the circumference of the oval arena, absorbing bewilderment. I added powder and you capped the casing with gathered fragments of lead. The lion would never know.-Lantz Pierre

Black Walls

It was not the first time. It was not the traffic that crawled past on the streets and avenues. It was not the electrified tungsten resisting the current, white hot but without oxygen. It was the words and the gentle caressing touch in the night that brought me to death.-Lantz Pierre

Without A Name

The bookcase stood a monument to history. A wall of words. A garrison of swords gathered against the slanting sun on the horizon. One whale was sucked dry to illuminate the truth. From its head gushed truth.-Lantz Pierre

Creative Shame

Such brilliant words when they are allocated in the ways you choose them to be.
The last stanza here blew the roof off of my sky, thats a good thing.
Bravo word sculptor.-Astral_Tides
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence." R.W.E.

Howling

Generation
These spectacles of round glass allow vision into minds that once were clouded with the surreality of homosexual acts. The glass was sand. The sand became a radiance of yellow orange and red. The radiance became a law, and that was cracked.-Lantz Pierre

Self-Deception

Terroir
She counted out raisins on the kitchen table. Golden sultanas and black currants that weren't currants at all. Grown on vines in clusters on a hillside in the sun. They were once plump, juicy, delectable. They were once meant for wine.-Lantz Pierre

The Ink Did Not Stop

Shards
What the vessels had once contained the sun absorbed in sacrificial rite. The mud and dung feared nothing from the rattlesnakes whose jaws could unhinge at will. What swung open with poison was hollow, such was its utility.-Lantz Pierre

Standing Alone

Fossilized
Incised on the mirrored surface was a dying leaf. The ants avoided its surface instinctively. The chemical trails told tales to make a sailor blush. The air was carrying a tune from a time when feathers first acquired the qualifier down.-Lantz Pierre

Another Journey

Emergency landing
The plane landed in a field, away from buildings, any people. It must have been carrying contraband of some sort. Maybe hermetically sealed ideas about the meaning of women's eye color. Or height. Maybe the pilot had captured a passing raison d'etre or unexploded armament from the air.-Lantz Pierre

Parched Lips

Black and white
Either the holy sister or the convicted criminal. Dry crusts of bread, water from a ladle in a bucket. Blood. The course work of darkness can only be learned in light. A candle made from the labors of a bee. The queen will perish having done nothing but conceive.-Lantz Pierre

God Was Bleeding

Plunging past the electrified semaphores of Broadway, descending breakneck towards drama and the laughs that only violence knows. Brakes fail with the heat of friction overcoming the insouciant dream of genitals waving in the breeze. Please, I'm only holding rings of gold.-Lantz Pierre

Repeating History

What bends finds camouflage comfortable. The enormous pipe-organs of cathedrals call out hymns of praise to point out the humble. Worth is measured within the confines of mucous-lined caverns. Sing, especially if you have forgotten the words.-Lantz Pierre

Cracking Of Dawn

A gesture of the arm. The chariots that never bring bread. That never ask after the well being of the dead. It is only a form of water reaching for the earth that stays the mercurial spear from landing in the shadow of strife. Crystals require anchors to stay afloat.-Lantz Pierre

Quivering Fetus

Surgical staples held the patient's anus shut. His teeth had rotted and his nose was a clitoral landmark. No one knew the way. No one asked if the fires could be quelled. No one applied the balms to wounds the gods had for eternity forbidden.-Lantz Pierre

Adulterous

The devotions required the dovetailing of cheek flesh and scented oils. The words were not enough. Roosters in the hen house sat drinking cans of flat beer with their feathers crossed. Outside the seeds were seared in the midday sun.-Lantz Pierre

Without A Title

Pace
How many planets offer moisture in the forms that a hull cannot ignore? It's the getting from here to there that engenders all the perils. All the pearls that the irritated oysters can offer. A long pole sinks softly into silt before it is held fast.-Lantz Pierre

Shivering Doorway

Slabs of muscle have been carved from the gentlest of pets. Placed on a brittle halo the fingertips meet and then the palms. No arrow, but the doors have been shouldered shut with great force. To pry them apart again would require the ghost of the abattoir.-Lantz Pierre

Suicides

Irreconcilable
Comment: There is no mid-ground between the contrails of the commercial jetliner and the fertile earth below. Along the furrows I walk watering what will not grow. When winter comes I will pull the blanket of purest white up over my head with hesitation. In the darkness I will dream of you.-Lantz Pierre

Of Gods And Virgins

Whalebone of her corset formed an hourglass. All I saw was the sickle. The fields of golden ripe grain swaying with movements of the flute. I drank gin and tonics in the sun and swatted at memories of the moon.-Lantz Pierre

Void

Inside the sphere is a candle. Two candles. A man and a woman both with fire for hair. With friction that is not entirely unpleasant. The tires on their chariot are spoked with gold. The axle greased.-Lantz Pierre

Search

Victory was his. The torches touched the sky. The lion made not the least mewling of approval. Then his thoughts were held in the delicate fingertip embrace of the homes of innumerable arachnids. The clock was never wound.-Lantz Pierre

Charity

The calm waters. A boat. A chair on the boat. Where there sat a famous man. A flat man. Shiny and worn.-Lantz Pierre

Where The Lies Are Born?

The carefully sewn bladder was inflated with air. Inflated with a sort of melancholy airplane song. When the feathers were found in the snow, scattered and spattered with blood, there were no tracks to be found. She listened to the moon, felt the water with her toe.-Lantz Pierre

Slaughtered Moon

The egg is spun round seven times by the flagelants tails. Seven times as it is foretold in fairytales. Seven times the drier spins your clean clothes toward their drawers before you walk away. An apple is only a vehicle for a paltry sum of poison.-Lantz Pierre

The Quest

The morning newspaper spread wide objectivity rains down like plutonium nuclei. What you read will not kill you. The events that happened yesterday will not be know to space until time folds and then folds again before drinking from your water glass.-Lantz Pierre

Nostalgia

With the most delicate of knives and forks, of an elven lace graced by strength, she carefully slices a tasty morsel from your eyeball, bringing the dainty meat close she sniffs your sins before she eats.-Lantz Pierre

Aconite

Lay down in the cool comfort of the snow. Pull the whiteness down over your furrowed brow. Drink in the silence of the crystals that melt on your skin. That liquid skin will become your protective crust.-Lantz Pierre

In Trembling Smile

My love spoke to me in words I could not hear. The vibrations of her vocal chords caused no stir. Enveloped in a vacuum I had no choice but to touch her skin, to electrify my mind. She closed her eyes. Her voice rose in a roar the night could not deter.-Lantz Pierre

Behind The Brick Walls

The child inserted his small worm-like finger into the wounds of the man who, like an aged tree, held the sky overhead without a thought. Without another rock to place upon the flapping corner where the circus canvas had come undone. Without a word from the father who was working on a broken clock.-Lantz Pierre

One Rendezvous

I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't completely get what this poem is saying, but I'm sure in a few more reads, it will fully dawn upon me. Besides that (which really is a non issue in poetry), I absolutely love this piece. The rhythm and flow of your writing really captures the mind as it is read and each line demands the next must be read in a beautiful manner. I love the enjambment, timed at crucial parts of the sentence, but in a way that gives meaning both to the line written and to the sentence itself.-Squeakyballls

Most Wanted

I am sure I have not grasped the deeper meaning of this write, but I do know that I enjoyed reading. I especially like these lines (Beyond the origins lies a marbled tale. You have reached nowhere.) That is an interesting concept. -MissSharon
